Wisdom Rising Prenatal Training
Module 1
Please join Christa Sonnier for a Prenatal Yoga Training program designed to give you the tools to teach and empower women through all stages of pregnancy. The training explores the unique physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of pregnancy and how to best support mothers during this transformational journey by using yoga asanas, breathing practices, meditations, and more. You will gain the confidence and the skills needed to teach safe and creative prenatal yoga classes.
This course is open to anyone who is interested in working more closely with pregnant women. Certified yoga instructors will gain a comprehensive understanding of the unique needs of their pregnant students in their current classes. Doulas, childbirth educators, and other professionals who work with pregnant women will gain more tools to support and nurture women in the prenatal, birthing, and postnatal periods.
The role of the prenatal yoga teacher is to create a space of nourishment and comfort for the expectant mothers that helps them foster their own sense of vitality, strength, and confidence in their journey toward motherhood. A prenatal yoga class can also help foster a community during pregnancy that honors resilience, reduces stress, and builds strength and endurance for pregnancy, labor and beyond.
In addition to her extensive yoga training, Christa is a certified doula who has over 20 years of supporting women in pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. She is passionate about helping women access their innate power during this sacred rite of passage.
Module 1 is a 40 hour training that includes weekend training time, prenatal yoga class observations, teaching time, and independent study and assignment.
It can be taken alone or in combination with Module 2 .
